Colt Brennan hopes his name will be called
on Saturday April 25 as that would put him in the first three
rounds of the 2008 NFL draft though getting the call on Sunday
wouldn't be the end of the world. We will find out this
weekend if he is drafted and if so where and by whom. "You
really don't know... several teams have shown strong interest"
said Colt Brennan. Predictions have him going as high as
the second round all the way to not being drafted at all.
Global Hawaii thinks that somebody will take a chance on Colt
Brennan in the 4th or 5th round. Brennan is also recovering from
minor surgery to repair a partially torn labrum but should be
ready for practice if drafted. He will watch the draft on
the mainland with his family. Good luck Colt!

Georgia dominates Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl
Hawaii's great season ended with a thud at
the Sugar Bowl as Georgia dominated Hawaii 41-10 in the BCS
Sugar Bowl. It was nonetheless a successful season for
June Jones and his Hawaii Warriors as they finished the regular
season undefeated season and their first solo WAC championship
as well as a big $4 million dollar payday for the Sugar Bowl.
Colt Brennan graduates, Sugar Bowl awaits
Its been a great year for Colt Brennan, first the WAC
championship, then the undefeated season and a BCS Sugar Bowl
invite, followed by his Heisman finalist appearance in New York
and now Colt Brennan college graduate. Brennan received
his bachelor's degree in communications and proclaimed "Of all
of the accomplishments and great rewards, getting a degree takes
the cake." Global Hawaii would like to congratulate Colt
Brennan and along with Hawaii hope that he gets a Sugar bowl
victory as a graduation present.
Tim Tebow wins Heisman, Brennan finishes in third
The Heisman selection committee awarded the 2007 Heisman Trophy
to Tim Tebow of Florida. In second place was Drren
McFadden of Arkansas followed by the Warriors Colt Brennan and
Mizzou's Chase Daniels. For the complete vote count see
BoomHammer Heisman Votes.
Colt Brennan named Heisman Finalist
The Heisman selection committee named Colt Brennan one of four
finalists for the prestigious Heisman Trophy award.
Brennan becomes the first Hawaii player ever invited to New York
as a finalist. He is joined by Tim Tebow (Florida), Chase
Daniels (Missouri) and Darren McFadden (Arkansas). For
more details on the Heisman finalists visit
BoomHammer Heisman Finalists.
Hawaii versus Georgia in the
Sugar Bowl
It's official Hawaii versus Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. The
announcement came as thousands of screaming fans joined the
Warriors at the Stan Sheriff center to await the announcement
live on FOX. This is the first ever BCS bid and only the
second mainland bowl for UH (the other being the Holiday
bowl). Tickets will go on sale shortly are are expected to
start at $125 but what might be the bigger problem is finding
flights to Louisiana which is also hosting the national
championship game and a lot of New Years celebrations.
Hawaii beats Washington and goes undefeated and hopes for BCS
bid
This must be the team of destiny as not even a 21 point
Washington lead (twice) could stop Colt Brennan and the Warriors
of Hawaii as Colt Brennan threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Ryan
Grice-Mullen with 44 seconds left to lead Hawaii to a 35-28
victory over Washington and an undefeated season. Hawaii
is hoping to receive a BCS bid from the Sugar Bowl for the first
time in history. Brennan was near perfect on a night where
UH needed every one of his 42 completed passes out of 50.
Brennan threw for 442 yards and 5 touchdown passes with no
interceptions. Frenzied fans chanted "BCS! BCS!" as
Brennan capped off a season in which he has thrown for 4,174
yard and 38 Touchdowns. Jason Rivers was his leading
receiver this night with 14 catches for 167 yards and four
touchdowns.
Brennan break record and leads Hawaii to WAC title with win
over Boise State
Colt Brennan lead the Warriors to their first outright WAC title
and kept them undefeated as Hawaii beat Boise State 39-27.
Brennan stated "That's three weeks in a row the so-called
experts said we were going to lose and we didn't". Added
coach June Jones "He was the best college football player in
America last year and still is this year". Brennan
finished the game 40 for 53 and 495 yards and 5 TD passes and
one TD rush. He broke Ty Detmers record for career
touchdown passes and now has 126. Davone Bess also had a
school record 15 catches two touchdowns. After the game a
jubilant sold out crowed rushed the field chanting BCS as a
victory over Washington next week could lead UH to a potential
Sugar Bowl matchup against LSU
Tyler Graunke and Dan Kelly lead the Warriors to Victory
Hawaii played 3 quarterbacks in the first 3 plays to confuse
Nevada as Colt Brennan, Tyler Graunke and Inouke Funaki each
played a down. Ultimately the Warriors decided to rest
Brennan after his concussion last week. Tyler Graunke
passed for 358 yards and two TDs and Dan Kelly kicked at 45-yard
field goal with 11.7 second left to keep the warriors undefeated
with a 28-26 victory over Nevada.
Colt Brennan ties record, gets knocked out and Hawaii beats
Fresno State 37-30
Colt Brennan tied the NCAA record for most career touchdown
passes and led Hawaii to a 37-30 victory over Fresno State at
Aloha Stadium. Brennan passed for 396 yards and 2
touchdowns typing Ty Detmer's record of 121 touchdowns in a
season. The game will be remember though for a vicious hit
by Bulldogs linebacker Marcus Riley that knocked Brennan out
cold and left him with a concussion early in the 4th quarter.
Backup QB Tyler Graunke filled in to preserve the victory for
the undefeated Warriors now 9-0 and along with Kansas the only
undefeated teams left in college football.
Colt Brennan back in Heisman and BCS run smashing New Mexico
50-13
Colt Brennan is back feeling comfortable at QB which was bad
news for New Mexico as Colt passed for 6 touchdowns , 425 yards
and a 50-13 victory over New Mexico State. Colt Brennan
has now passed for 2820 yards or an average of 403 yards per
game and 26 touchdowns and has a quarterback rating of 107.5.
This puts his name back in the Heisman race after being slowed
by injury.
Brennan saves the season with comeback 42-35 OT victory over
San Jose State
It was all but over with the Warriors trailing 35-21 in the
fourth quarter and as Hawaii faithful starting thinking of what
might have been, Colt Brennan hit Davone Bess for a 11 yard
touchdown strike to close the gap but there was only 3:53 left
and it still seemed hopeless until Blaze Soares caused a San
Jose State fumble and Brennan lead the Warriors to a touchdown
sending the game into overtime where Brennan struck again and
Myron Newberry intercepted the San Jose State chance to tie it
up. The Warriors win and move to 7-0 and the BCS dream is
still alive. Hawaii is currently ranked 18 in the first
BCS poll.
Colt Brennan returns to lead the Warriors to 48-20 win over
Idaho
Colt Brennan returned to action against Idaho and threw 3
touchdown passes and ran for another leading Hawaii to a 48-20
victory. Colt was still hobbling at times and threw a
career high 5 interceptions which may have hurt his Heisman
chances. Brennan's 3 touchdown passes moved him to 5th on
the NCAA all time career touchdown pass leaders behind Ty Detmer,
Tim Chang, Tim Rattay and Danny Wuerffel. If he regains
his health he is easily expected to pass Ty Dtemer's 121 TD
passes since he is already at 108 with 7 games remaining.
Brennan watches as Hawaii thumps Charleston Southern 66-10
Colt Brennan sidelined by injury watched his backup Tyler
Graunke and the Warrior defense shut Charleston Southern down.
The game remained close until halftime with the Warriors leading
21-7 before they turned it on and cruised to an easy victory.
Despite not playing Colt Brennan still leads the nation in
points responsible for with 32 per game and in total offense at
432 yards per game.
Colt and the defense demolish UNLV 49-14
In a different turn of events Heisman candidate Colt Brennan
rushed for 3 touchdowns and passed 2 more as the Warrior
defense shut down most of UNLV's game. Brennan was slowed
just a little by a swollen right ankle but neither that nor the
Rebel defense could stop Hawaii, who ended up a successful 11
day road trip with 2 wins and a well deserved flight back to the
islands.
Brennan and the Warriors trip up Louisiana Tech 45-44
It took all that Hawaii had to
knock of the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech. A 43-61
completions and 548 yard plus 4 TD's for Heisman candidate Colt
Brennan, an amazing 49 yard field goal by Dan Kelly and a
2-point conversion pass knocked down by Gerald Lewis to provide
an amazing finish to a great came and keep Colt's Heisman
chances and a run for a Warrior BCS berth still alive on a day
when Nevada, Fresno State and Boise State all fell to defeat.
Colt leads Hawaii to Blowout of Northern Colorado 63-6
Heisman Trophy candidate Colt
Brennan need only half a football game to put Northern Colorado
away and stamp his name as a leading contender in the Heisman
race. He threw for 416 yards and 6 (SIX) touchdowns,
giving him 99 TD in his University of Hawaii career. Colt
was 34/40 passes with no interceptions. We will continue

the game and to stop Hawai'i, you have to stop Colt."
Chris Petersen - Boise State Head Coach

is the key to their offense. He's played outstanding in every game. He was phenomenal
against us, the best quarterback performance we've ever faced."
Pat Hill – Fresno State Head Coach"I'm not really interested in sports psychology. It makes me feel like
a crazy person."
