Today we begin our series on the Kamanaiki Ridge hiking trail. The trail is located in the middle of Kalihi Valley and begins on Manaiki Place just off of Kalihi street. It begins near a house with some steps with artificial grass on it and continues up many steps including the mossy steps you see in todays photo of the day. Some of the steps are not clearly behind but we did the scientific method and counted steps both on the way up and on the way down and our group came to the conclusion there were 204 steps. Of course they are steep and depending on the shape you are in you may have to pause along the way so you have to focus on count. Tomorrow we hit the first major landmark the water tank.
