The parade was filled with many cultural displays and performances. Here is the Hawaii United Okinawa Association carrying their colorful flags.  Below is the  Kagoshima Ohara Matsui Odorrien performing a traditional dance. This is one of the few places you can view such a variety of cultural performances.

Today we begin a series on the Honolulu Festival parade and fireworks show. We begin at the start with the Color Guard proudly marching by with the flags. The Honolulu Festival is Hawaii’s premier cultural event promoting understanding and harmony between Hawaii and the Pacific Rim. It is a blend of Asia, Pacific and Hawaii cultures in a three day event culminating with this parade and fireworks show.

I decided to make this Wahiawa flowers week.  We started withe the beautiful Cherry Blossoms and we end at the Wahiawa Botanical Gardens with this tree full of brilliant red flowers. This is one of the cases where a picture does not do justice to how grand this looked.  If you ever have time I recommend stopping by the Wahiawa Botanical Gardens there is no admission and always a lot of plants to see. Bring water and bug spray if you plan on walking the paths to view some of the flowers.
