Six months ago few thought this day was possible but David Ige managed to unseat the sitting Governor Neal Abercrombie in the primary which almost never happens in Hawaii. He was outspent by Abercrombie 10 to 1 but ran a grass roots campaign. It culminated last night with a victory over Republican Duke Aiona and Independent Mufi Hannelmann to take the Governors office. Governor Elect David Ige (front and center) with Lt. Governor elect Shan Tsutsui (on his left) greet jubilant supporters. Below a bonus picture a US Senators Brian Schatz and Mazie Hiro join in for a photo that now features the four most powerful politicians in Hawaii.
