Once a year Foster Botanical Garden’s opens its doors at night for the free Midsummer Night’s Gleam.  You are free to tour the grounds in the late afternoon and enjoy all their trees and flowers. There is also live entertainment and activities for children. Once the sun goes down over 2500 lantern candles are lit turning the gardens into a glowing wonderland. I also noticed that at night for some reason the smells of the plants are more noticeable. The top photo shows what the ground looked like with the lanterns and the bonus photo below shows one of the paths. I had a lot of fun playing with camera setting to try to capture the lanterns.

One of the most popular dishes as Shokudo is their Honey Toast dessert. Recently their chefs put a twist on it and now bring you Tempura honey toast bread pudding in sake caramel sauce with vanilla ice cream. Its an even more decadent version and you must drop by to give it a taste.  Its the perfect way to end a meal and is their current special. Hopefully it makes it to their permanent menu.
