Some people have wondered if all I do all day it take photos of sunsets, flowers and food and hang out at the beach. Though I wish that were true in my day job I’m working in the Pacific Guardian Center (two glass towers). Hawaiiblog / Global Hawaii is more of a hobby which generates just enough income to keep it running. The smaller brown building just in front of the towers is the Dillingham Transportation Building which in 1979 was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Here are some feral pigs that were roaming in Keaiwa State Park near the Aiea Loop Trail. I think these received a lot of handouts as the seemed pretty docile. Just the other day a group of hikers in Palolo Valley encountered some feral pigs and called for help. Though this doesn’t happen very often be careful if you encounter any pigs. Be sure never to get between the mother and her piglets and do not disturb or get in their way. In general if you encounter any they will usually quickly run away.

Prior to the moonwalk on the beach a few of us did an early loop down Kahala Avenue to burn some extra calories. Along the way we came across this beautiful purple flower. I tried to find the name on the internet but wasn’t able to so if anybody knows what it is please let me know.  One of these days I hope to sort my flower photos onto some sort of gallery with their correct names.
