Thanks to the folks at the U.S.S. Missouri and the Battleship Missouri Amateur Radio Club we were provided with a rare tour of the radio room. Much of the equipment in thsi room has been restored. The big printer on the lower right is the NAVMACS system which printed messages on multi-part paper forms. The computer terminals behind it are Teletype Model 40 keyboard and CRT displays which used cassette tapes for message storage. Stepping into this room is like stepping back into time and the radio club members explained how these were used on the Battleship to open communications with the bases and the crew.
