Do you believe? In an amazing season of destiny Hawaii came back from a 21 point deficit to Washington not once, but twice. Colt Brennan threw 4 touchdown passes to Jason Rivers and the winning touchdown pass to Ryan Grice-Mullen to lead the Warriors to victory as the frenzied Aloha Stadium crowd chanted “BCS! BCS!”. The victory caps in undefeated 12-0 season for June Jones and the Hawaii Warriors. To see a recap of Colt Brennan and the Warriors season click here.
The next day the BCS selection show made it official and in front of 7,500 cheering fans at the Stan Sheriff center it was announced that Hawaii would be playing Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. This is the first ever BCS bid for the Warriors and only the second mainland bowl game. Georgia is one of the hottest teams in college football and many felt they could be in the national title game. The bowl game will be played in Louisiana on January 1.
Finally the Heisman committee announced that Colt Brennan joins Darren McFadden (Arkansas), Tim Tebow (Florida) and Chase Daniels (Missouri) as the four finalists in the Heisman trophy race. This is the first time in history a Hawaii player has been made a finalist in the Heisman race. Click here to see the Heisman picks courtesy of Boomhammer.com.
Please join us in congratulating Colt Brennan and the Hawaii Warriors for a thrilling season. Comment below and wish Colt and the Warriors good luck in the Heisman race and the Sugar Bowl.
