The parade had about 70 entries so I have to carefully choose which ones to photograph and share. Being a Hawaii Photo Blog its hard to pass up on hula dancers. Here is the group from Holy Family Catholic Academy. The school was established in 1956 under the tutelage of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.

Today we begin our Honolulu Festival series. The Honolulu Festival is one of Hawaii’s premier cultural events, promoting understanding, economic cooperation and ethnic harmony between the people of Hawaii and the Pacific Rim region. Kicking off our photos is ths group by Philippine Airlines marching down the street in their colorful eye catching attire. This series will show various photos from the parade and the concluding Nagaoka fireworks show.

We end our Pow Wow Hawaii 2016 series with this one last mural.  The best way to really enjoy this is to walk down the streets of Kaka’ako and experience it for yourself. As I walk by I see a lot of people taking pictures along side the many murals. You can use this mural map to find many of the murals. There are additional one from prior years or additional murals not part of Pow Wow Hawaii so it pays to wander around a bit. A good way to get some exercise and see a lot of nice art.
