Tadd finishes Sony Open in Hawaii 5 under
Tadd Fujikawa struggled on Sunday
shooting 3 over par to finish 5 under at the Sony Open in Hawaii
10 strokes behind the leader but still good enough for a
$29,237.14 paycheck. Not bad for the 18 year old Moanalua
High School senior. I along with thousands of people from
Hawaii followed Tadd around and while not magical it was great
to see all the support of his gallery cheering his good shots
and sharing the pain with him when some of his puts fell just
short. It was great just being part of his gallery.
Tadd kept a smile and gave it his all. One of the things I
noticed is even after a round that he said "I couldn't get
anything going today" he stopped in the 18th hole tee and while
waiting in a lengthily delay to tee off stopped to sign golf
ball for the sign holder and the other support staff that
followed him around and even some for the crowd. Since
turning pro Tadd has made just over $36,000. Way to go
Tadd.
Fujikawa has best round of day and is in contention at Sony
Open in Hawaii 2009

On a day he called "moving day"
Tadd Fujikawa certainly did that wowing the hometown gallery
with a blistering hot 8-under part 62 today to vault from 51st
place to the top of the leader board before ended up 2 strokes
behind leader Zach Johnson in the third round at the Waialae
Country Club. Tadd has nine birdies and one bogey and also
missed one eagle shot that just barely rimmed out. When he
finished his round he was atop the leader board (as shown in the
picture above) and is now in contention to win the whole thing
on Sunday. Fujikawa said "I think my lowest
tournament round so far was 65, but today it was 62... It was a
good round." Good round was certainly an understatement as
it was the second best round EVER at the Sony Open second only
to David Toms 61 in 2006. We will be there cheering for
Tadd on Sunday. Good luck Tadd!
Fujikawa makes first PGA cut at Sony Open in Hawaii

birdie on the final hole Fujikawa said of making the cut "its
and awesome feeling. Earning my way in and then making the
cut is just even better." We wish Tadd best of luck over
the weekend at the Sony and will be there on Sunday to see how
he does.
